I downgraded to Audacity 2.0.3 and all is well. If it still helps…I ran into this problem as well and found this thread. If none of that helps, try Audacity 2.0.3 ( ). Change the audio buffer in Soundflowerbed if the Audacity buffer setting does not help. You’ll need to follow the suggestions already given elsewhere - change the Audio to buffer in either direction in the Audacity Recording Preferences. It is recording the crackling, so hence playback is crackling. I believe it is a conflict of the programs simultaneously being recorded by Audacity. Therefore it is not an issue of local or streaming. I shut off Itunes, it was there, I tried it the other way, it was there. I was doing exactly this, recording on Audacity, Itunes music on the drive, on the machine, not streaming here, however simultaneously streaming and recording music on the internet. So what it is I believe is a conflict where the programs are popping and cracking, maybe something to do with memory, guessing here, however it will help you guys. When it starts out getting going recording, after a short while I will check and there it is.
Everything is looped fine, all is well, however when it starts out getting going recording, after a short while I will check and there it is. It records crackling, and with Mac you are forced to use a program we are all well aware of for the most part, SoundFlower.
I too have the same issue, so let me add to this to help identify the issue.
